Christine Genna M.S. CCC-SLP
Christine Genna is a state and nationally certified speech-language pathologist. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). She is trained in PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) and has her comprehensive 30 hour training in the Orton-Gillingham methodology. Christine earned her M.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York and her B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from The State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz.
Christine has worked in a variety of settings including private practices, therapeutic community-based treatment programs and preschool, elementary, middle and high schools. She has worked in general education, integrated co- teaching and D75 schools; and believes in incorporating curriculum related material into therapy sessions throughout settings. She enjoys working with families and the multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based practice in a supportive learning environment which targets each individual child’s learning style. She believes this collaboration is the key to generalization of skills learned within therapy.
Christine has pursued post-graduate education in training parents of children with language delays and is a Hanen certified speech language pathologist. She recognizes the importance of involving parents in their child’s early language intervention, and enjoys empowering caregivers through teaching practical and powerful language facilitation strategies to help children communicate during every day routines. Christine is an advocate for early identification and treatment of speech and language delays, which fosters later social and academic success.
Athena Tahos M.S. CCC-SLP, TSSLD
Athena is a New York State licensed speech-language pathologist who holds a Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and New York State Teacher Certification in Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). She earned a M.S. in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University and a B.A. in Psychology from Franklin and Marshall College. Athena’s background includes addressing the following: social-pragmatic communication, executive functioning, expressive/receptive language, self-regulation, reading comprehension, narrative skills, and articulation and phonology. While at NYU, Athena had the privilege of training under members of the Social Thinking® Training and Speakers Collaborative at the Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center of Montefiore Hospital. She continues to be coached by members of the Social Thinking® Training and Speakers Collaborative in her current position at an independent school in Manhattan. She strives to create creative and stimulating sessions that simultaneously engage children while targeting their specific speech, language, and social-pragmatic goals.
Yasmin Silva M.S. CCC-SLP, TSSLD, BEA
Yasmin is an ASHA certified and New York State licensed bi-lingual Speech and Language Pathologist. She holds both her Bachelor’s of Arts and Masters in Arts from Lehman College in speech and language pathology. Yasmin has been praticing since 2012 and has a vast amount of experience working with children raging in ages from 2-17 years old who have various disorders such as Autism, Down syndrome, Cleft lip and palate, Apraxia of speech, hearing impairments, learning disabilities, language delays, phonological disorders, language processing disorders and behavioral challenges. During her practice she has acquired significant experience using the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices (AAC).
Jennifer Tosi-Ramirez, M.A. CCC-SLP, TSSLD
Jennifer is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and holds a certification as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) and her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Jennifer earned her M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology at St. John’s University in Queens, NY and her B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Queens College (CUNY). She has provided group and individual therapy targeting a variety of communication disorders to adults and children in preschool through eighth grade. She is PROMPT level one trained. Jennifer recognizes the importance of every individual having the ability to advocate for themselves. Using a combination of therapy and empathy, she believes she can help others achieve their highest communication goals.
Jamie Silverman, MS, CCC-SLP, TSSLD
Jamie Silverman is a certified and licensed speech-language pathologist and certified feeding specialist. She received her Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology from New York Medical College, and a Bachelors of Arts in Human Development from Binghamton University. She earned a NY State Teacher Certification in Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD), and holds New York State licensure in speech-language pathology and certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Additionally, Jamie is PROMPT Level 1 trained, has experience with dysphagia therapy/ FEES as well as with augmentative and alternative forms of communication.
Gegendeep Chawla, M.S. OTR/L
Gegendeep Chawla (Gege) is a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist who has been working as a pediatric and sub-acute therapist since 2012. She graduated from New York Institute of Technology with a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy and also holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences from New York Institute of Technology as well. She was the director of rehabilitation at Terrence Cardinal Cooks specialty unit which houses children from 0-18 years with profound neurological impairments and other complex medical conditions. She has been the director of rehabilitation services at a skilled nursing facility in charge of over seeing 50 therapists in a 280 bed facility and works with patients with diagnoses such as strokes, TBI, orthopedic, Parkinson’s, MS etc. Gege also provides services for children with PDD, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, and other physical or developmental disabilities.
Suzanne Goldenberg HTR
For over sixteen years, Suzanne Goldenberg has been an artist and educator, teaching environmental science, art, literacy and gardening in New York City public schools and community gardens. She is holds her certificate In Horticultural Therapy from The New York Botanical Gardens. Suzanne has worked as an instructor in NYC public schools teaching environmental science and art with the Apple Seed Program under the auspices of The Horticultural Society of New York. For seven years she gardening and art in NYC community gardens with the Trust For Public Land’s Children’s Gardening Program and City Spaces, and is currently Director of The Farm Arts Program at Camp Ballibay in Northeast Pennsylvania. She received a B.A. in Film from McGill University and an M.F.A from the Maryland Institute College of Art and received her Art Education Certificate at the School of Visual Arts, NYC. She lives and teaches in New York, maintaining a studio practice and exhibiting her work in New York City galleries.
